LLM & RAGS intern

1 open position

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Intern with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).  You will be working at the frontier of generative AI, helping us explore, build and optimize systems that bridge the gap between static models and dynamic, private data.

This role is ideal for a student looking to apply theoretical knowledge to a production-grade environment and build a significant portfolio piece.

Key Responsibilities

Architect & Optimize RAG Pipelines: Improve retrieval accuracy using vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate).

LLM Implementation: Experiment with and fine-tune prompts and workflows using models like GPT-4, Claude, or Llama 3.

Data Engineering: Assist in the cleaning, chunking, and embedding of proprietary datasets.

Evaluation: Implement benchmarking frameworks to measure hallucinations, faithfulness, and relevancy of model outputs.

Qualifications

Academic Standing:  Graduate student (Masters/PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.

GPA: 3.5 or higher preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or TensorFlow).

Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of transformer architectures and the mechanics of RAG.

Soft Skills: A research-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex, non-deterministic systems.

What You Will Gain

Mentorship: Direct access to several AI chief architects and weekly 1-on-1 growth sessions.

Portfolio Impact: Significant contribution to a live AI project that you can showcase to future employers.

Flexibility: We respect your academic schedule and offer flexible working hours.

Future Opportunities: Top performers will be prioritized for future full-time, paid openings.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a strategic thinker who thrives in a global environment. As a core member of the executive team and a key partner to our US-based CEO, you will be the architect of a unified, high-performance culture. Your mission is to champion our "one-team" philosophy, ensuring our Serbian engineering excellence and our US-based growth operations are seamlessly synchronized. Based in our Novi Sad office, you will lead HR activities worldwide, serving as the cultural heartbeat of our global operations. You will work to deepen an environment of high trust and transparency, where meritocracy and professional growth are at the forefront of everything we do. This role requires a lot of width, from specialized technical recruiting in the automotive software space, to ensuring operational excellence across regions, all while nurturing the lean, agile spirit that makes us successful.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Talent Acquisition

  • Technical Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end recruitment for software engineers in Serbia and sales/ops roles in the US and Western Europe.

  • Domain Expertise: Leverage your understanding of the software landscape (automotive/embedded systems experience is a significant advantage) to identify "A-players."

  • Candidate Experience: Build a world-class hiring process that reflects our brand's commitment to quality and speed.

2. Performance & Organizational Health

  • Accountability Frameworks: Develop and implement clear, objective performance metrics. You will help identify top performers and address underperformance with directness and fairness.

  • Managerial Coaching: Support our engineering leads in Serbia, helping them develop the management skills necessary to lead high-output, autonomous teams.

  • Culture Alignment: Ensure a unified work style across the US and Europe, focused on proactive communication, ownership, and results.

3. Operations & Compliance

  • Serbian Labor Law: Act as the internal authority on local employment regulations, ensuring all contracts, benefits, and workplace policies are compliant and competitive.

  • Global HR Ops: Help manage the logistical side of a multi-country workforce, including payroll coordination, local benefits packages, and onboarding for US and EU employees.

  • Process Improvement: Streamline our people operations to be as efficient as our code, removing friction and allowing the team to focus on building.

About You

  • Experience: 7+ years in People Ops/HR, ideally within a high-growth software environment.

  • Education:  Law degree, with HR certification or education

  • Global Perspective: You have extensive experience working with or for US-based companies and thrive in a culture of radical candor and rapid iteration.

  • Technical Fluency: You speak the language of engineers. You understand the nuances of the Serbia tech market and how to find specialized talent in the automotive or embedded sectors.

  • High Judgment: You are comfortable making difficult decisions. You can balance empathy for the individual with the strategic needs of the business.

  • Bilingual Leadership: Exceptional English and Serbian communication skills are a must. You are as comfortable presenting to the CEO as you are sitting down for a 1-on-1 with a junior developer.
