As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be part of the Ottometric QA team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. 

You will drive test automation efforts, including the design, development, and maintenance of a unified automation framework covering both UI and API testing. 

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing both automated and manual test cases to identify software defects, investigate their root causes, and ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.  

This role is in person, on-site in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, release, regression, and exploratory testing
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scenarios, test cases, and supporting test suites
  • Refactor, extend, and maintain test automation frameworks and existing automated test suites as needed
  • Collaborate with software development teams throughout the development and deployment processes
  • Understand and analyze product requirements and work closely with the Product Owner to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Estimate testing efforts and ensure testing activities are completed according to agreed timelines and schedules
  • Identify defects as early as possible in the software development lifecycle, report them clearly, and track them through resolution
  • Develop and continuously improve testing approaches, methodologies, and procedures
  • Document test results, defects, and relevant technical information in Jira
  • Collaborate with QA colleagues to define effective testing strategies and test plans to ensure overall product quality
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage, and automation practices

Who We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on test automation experience
  • 3–5+ years of overall experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation development
  • Experience with Cypress, Playwright, or similar modern test automation frameworks
  • Experience with functional, acceptance, performance, stress, and compliance testing
  • Experience with Git and source code repositories
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools and integrating automated tests into CI pipelines is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of SQL databases
  • Good understanding of Agile software development methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
